In response to recent public comments by Governor Patrick and leaders of both the House and Senate, yesterday the Massacusetts DOR issued TIR 13-14 that officially delays the initial reporting to October 20 of transactions that would be taxable under the new law passed in late July.  The announcement does not delay the taxing or reporting of other products and services taxed previously under the law before the ill-fated addition of computer design services and software modification services.

Insiders and other reports indicate that the new law will be repealed “sometime in the next couple of weeks” before the end of September.
